Applicants should have a scientific degree in chemistry or related disciplines, be innovative, self-motivated, and have the desire to contribute to the further development of one of the world's top scientific book and reference programs. You will be responsible for ensuring effective management and growth of our international book programme, including the acquisition and development of books, book series, reference works and products in other delivery formats. The successful applicant will attend meetings and conferences, visit laboratories and maintain contact with the international scientific community.
A broad interest in science, excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal), diplomacy, and flexibility are needed. You have strong negotiation skills to deal with authors and you are motivated as well as results- and business-oriented. You have excellent analytical skills and judgement to identify opportunities and projects with high potential for success. You wish to develop a good knowledge in international and national publishing, have a broad education in chemistry or related scientific areas, and the ability to work independently as well as closely with others.
Furthermore fluent English language skills (both written and verbal) are necessary. German language knowledge is also required for this position. We are looking for an expert with multi-annual work experience in books publishing for this permanent position.
